Proud to be "Serranos"...

These are the mountains that have seen us grow, the mountains where we belong....

"Serranos" is much more than our beloved ham. It´s the name of the people from "La Sierra", or in  our particular case, the locals of La Sierra de Guadarrama. To be a local is a feeling and a spirit, more than a label. It´s what comes when your nature belongs to a place, to a land. We at BlackTown Trails belong to the Sierra, its mountains, towns and people. To its rocks, trails and rivers. We were born here, we raised here, and here is where our fathers took us to learn to ride a bike, to walk the mountains and to camp under the sky. These are the trails that our ancestors used to transport livestock, combat or to walk with an army for the battle. We belong to La Sierra. This is where we learnt to respect nature, where we created strong bonds with friends and passion for everything related to mountains and specially, to mountain bike. Before mountain biking existed, we rode with our BMX´s or whatever was available. Our soul belongs to this land.

It´s said that the best way to discover a new place is to do it guided by a local. It is an universal truth with a more profound meaning than just knowing better places or spots reserved to locals. It´s much more. It´s to understand the roots of the place, the culture and the spirit that flows in the veins of its people, of its locals. In our case, in the real "Serranos". When you have such a deep emotional connection to a land, you can share an experience that could not be translated in any other way. When riding with truly locals, with "Serranos", you will not only ride their favorite and unknown trails. You will taste the lifestyle that surrounds our culture, our hospitality, our food,  our spirit, our souls. The truly Sierra experience.

Wherever you choose to travel with your mountain bike, choose a truly local guide.
